The Long Branch 5K Fun Run is a family-oriented community event. Proceeds from the event fund efforts of Discover Long Branch and the Long Branch Business League, in addition to supporting the Long Branch Festival, one of our major community events! The Long Branch 5K will be held on November 19th, 2023 in Long Branch, MD.
Race Date and Itinerary:
Sunday, November 19th, 2023
7AM: Same day registration and packet pickup Long Branch – Garland Neighborhood Park, 8601 Garland Ave.
8AM: 5K Run and Walk starts at the bottom of Long Branch – Garland Neighborhood Park, 8601 Garland Ave.
5K Wave Start: 8:00 am
– Wave 1: 10 minute mile and faster
– Wave 2: Over 10 minute mile, runners with strollers in the back, runners with pets on leashes in the back
– Wave 3: Walkers
Race Location
Long Branch Garland Neighborhood Park (8601 Garland Ave.) at the head of Long Branch trail.
Race Information
Strollers and baby joggers are allowed at the back of Wave 2. No skates or bikes permitted. Pets on leash only at the back of Wave 2.

Post-race celebration and BRUNCH at El Golfo Restaurant! Think Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Quesadillas, Pupusas, French Toast, MIMOSAS, MICHELADAS, BLOODY MARYS, and more!

Parking
Limited parking is available at the Long Branch Community Center(8700 Piney Branch Rd). Because parking is limited, we encourage walking, cycling, or using the bus. Many bus lines service Piney Branch in front of the Long Branch Community Center.

Virtual Runners:
Not local to the run but want to support the clean water cause? New this year, we invite you to participate in our virtual race option so you can participate in the 5k from anywhere in the world!
As a participant in the virtual Long Branch 5k, you will receive a race kit in the mail prior to race day on Saturday November 19th. Please note that virtual registration closes two weeks prior to the event on Sunday, November 6.

Starting line is a stone’s throw south of Long Branch-Garland Neighborhood Park (8601 Garland Ave.), which is across the street from parking at the Long Branch Community Center (8700 Piney Branch Rd.).
The race starts at the bottom of Long Branch-Garland Neighborhood Park across the street from the Long Branch Community Center. From there the racers will head down Long Branch Trail, cut into Haddon Drive, and then across Houston Avenue. At the bottom of Houston a race marshall will direct racers to turn right, heading up Sligo Creek Parkway. Just before Piney Branch, participants will turn around and head back down Sligo Creek Parkway, passing the Houston intersection. A race marshall will be standing at the turn-around point (about where Maplewood Avenue runs perpendicular to the Parkway). The racers will turn back up Sligo Creek Parkway and take a slight right back on to Houston Avenue. The route continues across Houston, up Haddon, and then back on the Long Branch Trail to end the race back at the starting line in Branch-Garland Neighborhood Park.
